We have had a great time for 10 days with my Mom here. Today we took her to Frankenmuth and met my Uncle Chuck and Aunt Margie for lunch at the famous Zenders Restaurant. What a great chicken meal! We are stuffed! :) A trip to Christmas Village is always a must when you are there, and the horse and buggy rides around are so fun. My Mom went back with my Uncle and Aunt for a few days in Detroit, then will be going on back home to Cleveland. It was a beautiful, sunny, warm day...just perfect for a Monday get-away.

4 Extraordinary Fathers.....
Happy, Happy Father’s Day to 4 wonderful Fathers…
My dad – Frank Lehmann
My husband – Bob Lanning
My sons-in-law –
Matt Sawatzky and Ben Godfrey
My father has been celebrating father’s day for 28 years now in heaven. How I miss him. He was one of the greatest fathers I have known. Dad gave me a love for serving the Lord. It excited my Dad to be a part of the local church ministry…when he directed the choir, sang special music, was on a church board, or involved in so many ministries of the church, he was the happiest. Serving the Lord was what he called his “full-time” job – even though he had another “full-time” job that paid the bills! He was always so cheerful and took such an interest in his family and others. He had such a kindness, tenderness, patience and gentleness about him and loved us so much. That was exactly the kind of man I wanted (and got!) when I married…
My husband has been a wonderful father to our four children. He is a consistent example of living the godly walk…not just preaching it on Sundays! He spent hours working with our kids on their science or math, being at their ballgames, encouraging them with their AWANA verses, having daily devotions with them, investing countless hours with them and prayed for them constantly (and still prays for them constantly!). He was a demonstrator of “showing love” by spending time with them besides telling them how much he loved them. Our children are what they are today because of the father they have. “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in the truth” .And how we praise the Lord that this verse has become a reality for each one of our children. What a lot of praying we did as future husbands were coming into the lives of our girls….
And how thankful and grateful we are for our sons-in-law, Matt and Ben, who are super fathers to our beautiful grandsons, Brock and Micah. They spend time with their sons, and love and nurture them. Thank you for taking such great care of Brock and Micah, and also of Rachel and Rebekah. Our grandbabies are very blessed to have you as their father.
Happy, Happy Father’s Day to each one of you! How blessed I am to have these 4 EXTRAORDINARY fathers in my life. I love you all soooooooo much!
